At LACIAC, we recognise the need to bridge the knowledge gap and to help practitioners gain insight into the different roles in arbitration. The training is the first module in our “Pathways to a Career in Arbitration Series”, a series commenced to achieve our goals of assisting young practitioners in building a career in arbitration.
This module will focus on the role of the Arbitral Secretary and is a great opportunity for young and aspiring practitioners to gain practical understanding of the different aspects of a career in arbitration. It will include among other things:
- Practical sessions and drafting exercises based on different case scenarios
- An introduction to the duties and responsibilities of the arbitral secretary
- Tips and guide to help participants kick-start a career in arbitration and to secure appointments as arbitral secretary
The training is relevant to practitioners who are:
- new to the field of arbitration;
- yet to experience any arbitration proceedings or wish to gain more experience; and/or
- interested in learning more about a pathway to building a career in arbitration.
