La crise inflationniste que connaît le monde depuis la mi 2021 accentue la nécessité pour les pays comme le Cameroun d’asseoir une véritable souveraineté alimentaire. Les stratégies adoptées à cet effet par notre pays et implémentées par le MINADER le MINEPIA mettent un accent sur le développement de partenariats et sur la mobilisation de l’initiative privée.
Dans ce cadre et à la faveur de la visite du Président de la République Française au Cameroun en juillet 2022, une rencontre des investisseurs camerounais et français conduits respectivement par le GICAM, le MEDEF International et l’Alliance pour l’Agriculture, l’Élevage, l’Aquaculture en Afrique (ALFA) a débouché sur un Protocole d'entente entre les trois organisations.
S’appropriant l’initiative FARM (Food and Agriculture Resilience Mission), le GICAM, le MEDEF International et ALFA se sont donnés pour ambition de contribuer à structurer des filières complètes et durables combinant les productions agricoles et l’élevage, la professionnalisation des acteurs, la transformation et la commercialisation, la chaîne logistique et le renforcement des infrastructures indispensables.
Les trois parties ont convenu d'identifier une vingtaine (20) de projets de tailles moyennes (entre 350 millions et 3 275 millions F CFA d’investissement), de les évaluer, d'en confirmer la faisabilité pour aller jusqu'à la solution de financement, dans les domaines suivants :
Agriculture :
- Production de vitro plants de banane et de pomme de terre ;
- Productions agricoles diverses (soja, maïs, manioc, banane plantain, sorgho, …) avec la possibilité d’exploiter les réserves foncières déjà constituées par le Gouvernement.
Élevage :
- Pêche industrielle & aquaculture commerciale ;
- Élevage de parentaux en aviculture ;
- Commercialisation de la viande bovine.
Pour matérialiser cette ambition, le GICAM, le MINADER et le MINEPIA organiseront au cours de ce premier trimestre 2023 (mois de février), le Forum de l’Investissement Privé dans l’Agriculture & l’Élevage au Cameroun.
Ce Forum s’adresse aux Entreprises, aux personnes physiques, aux professionnels, aux associations GIC/Coopératives ou toute autre entité morale de droit camerounais porteur de projets se rapportant directement ou indirectement à l’un des domaines ci-dessus.
Les personnes et les entités intéressées sont priées de manifester leur intérêt pour cette initiative et leur désir de prendre part à ce Forum en renseignant le Formulaire en ligne et la Fiche de projet (disponibles sur le site web : www.legicam.cm) et renvoyer au GICAM avant le 30 janvier 2023 aux adresses ci-dessous. CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
To project leaders: Companies, individuals, professionals, associations, CIGs/Cooperatives, and others
The inflationary crisis that the world has been experiencing since mid-2021 accentuates the need for countries like Cameroon to establish real food sovereignty. The strategies adopted to this effect by our country and implemented by MINADER and MINEPIA focus on the development of partnerships and the mobilisation of private initiative.
Within this framework and during the visit of the President of the French Republic to Cameroon in July 2022, a meeting of Cameroonian and French investors led respectively by GICAM, MEDEF International and the Alliance for Agriculture, Livestock and Aquaculture in Africa (ALFA) resulted in a Memorandum of Understanding between the three organisations.
Taking over the FARM (Food and Agriculture Resilience Mission) initiative, GICAM, MEDEF International and ALFA have set themselves the goal of contributing to the structuring of complete and sustainable value chains combining agricultural and livestock production, the professionalisation of actors, processing and marketing, the logistics chain, and the strengthening of essential infrastructures.
The three parties agreed to identify about twenty (20) medium-sized projects (between 350 million and 3,275 million CFA francs of investment), to evaluate them, to confirm their feasibility and to go on to a financing solution, in the following areas
Agriculture:
- Production of banana and potato seedlings;
- Various agricultural productions (soya, maize, cassava, plantain, sorghum, etc.) with the possibility of exploiting the land reserves already set up by the Government.
Livestock:
- Industrial fishing & commercial aquaculture;
- Breeding of grandparent chicks (broilers & layers chicks);
- Marketing of beef.
To materialise this ambition, GICAM, MINADER and MINEPIA will organise during the first quarter of 2023 (month of February), the Forum for Private Investment in Agriculture & Livestock in Cameroon.
This Forum is intended for companies, individuals, professionals, CIG/Cooperative associations, or any other legal entity under Cameroonian law with projects directly or indirectly related to one of the above fields.
Interested persons and entities are requested to express their interest in this initiative and their desire to take part in this Forum by filling in the google form and the project form (available on the website: www.legicam.cm) and returning them to GICAM before 30th January 2023 at the addresses below. A formal invitation will then be sent to them.
